It is with sadness that the Copperas Cove Chamber of Commerce announces that
2008 Ogletree Gap Heritage Festival was Awesome! Where else but “The City Built for Family Living”, Copperas Cove, Texas could you find such an exciting weekend full of fun, relaxation, good food, arts and crafts, Civil War reenactments, a petting zoo, pony rides, pumpkin painting, kids ole-time games (sack races, horseshoe-pitching, washer -pitching), a chuck wagon breakfast (Saturday morning), our very own Horse Platoon from the 1st Cavalry Division, Cow’ographers (our Texas Ambassadors), your very own special Ogletree Gap T-shirts (and special fest pin for your collection!), Ole-time storytelling, cowboy church, BBQ cook-off, native American demonstrations, pioneer demonstrations ... the list goes on! Ogletree Gap Heritage Festival had more demonstrations etc. than ever before. The Cowographers did a good job along with Betty Price the Chamber Tourism VP in organizing and running the fest this year. 2008 celebrated the 23rd Annual Ogletree Gap Heritage Fest. Lots of thanks go out to Lois & Billy Piper, Sam & Diane Vinson of the Fightin’ Sixth, 1st Cavalry Horse Detachment, 1st Cavalry Museum, Buffalo Soldiers from San Antonio and everyone else that volunteered to make our Heritage Fest a success. The weather was beautiful and the fest set-up was done extremely well. Check out the results for the 2008 Gallop / Trot here. Thanks so much to all our Sponsors. |
